TIGER AND ME -MY FENKU POST
I am a farmer with a large large farmland stretching across those green hills. One day, due to the insistence of an old owl that had flown to my farm last month, and made quick friends with me, I decided to go to town.
There in a corner, beside the solar lamppost, I saw an old man with a large cage. Curious,I went to him and asked permission to have a peep. Many pairs of friendly eyes, gazed at me from within that cage. There were beautiful horses called sonia, umbrella, sarada, priya, tingy, cindy, Avipsha Das..…green chirpy parrots like savita, nabanita, sneha, sugar, santa claus, lalli, a friendly wild ox called Radhakrishnaaaaaa, a giraffe called SecondComing , stags called Santosh N, Sunil xyz, i2i, a reindeer called Idlemind ,a strong hunting dog called loveramesh , two white stallions; Arnie , Nikhil Modi…..and a Tiger called Sunil T. Bless my soul, it was a dear little baby Tiger. Although I liked all the animals, I hadn’t the money to buy the entire group of animals. I have my limitations ,you see. So with the little money I had ,I thought I would buy just a few of them. But the seller was a broken circus man wanting to sell all the animals immediately. He shook his head and said, the entire group was very fond of each other. Choosing just a few, could be dangerous, as the others would fly into a rage. How much could I spend? I am not so rich…Anyway, the circus man allowed me credit, if only I would take those animals off his hands!!!! As I expected a bumper this year, I agreed. I gave him my address, phone numbers, both landline and mobile.Towing the cage(which was on wheels) to my wagon, off I drove home, humming a tune.
The next morning, I went to inspect this cage, which I had placed by my mulberry grove. Egad, was I very pleased to find that the animals were actually shaking hands with meeeee. They seemed to love me a lot because I looked friendlier than the circus man, who would beat them to dance to his tunes for every show. Many happy days passed in the company of these dear animals.
One day, the wise owl advised me to stitch quality jackets for all of them and I thought it was such a pretty idea. So I proceeded to stitch jackets for all of them. For some the dress suited like a dream while the others needed to grow a bit to fit in. But since they were all one family, they responded with mixed sentiments to the jacketing which they felt was straitjacketing and how could I do this! Now, the angriest was Tiger baby. He was my biggest pet and had a crush on me. He wanted me to have a crush on him too. I would have loved to have a crush on him . But I noticed that he already had a crush on a bevy of other bloggers….tch…tch… animals and had added me as a tail piece, fearing to offend me.. Since I did not relish being part of a crowd, I told him kindly that we can just be friends.I would take him for walks every night and we would prattle along about animal life and blogging life.Tiger’s nightly walks with a human made him very pleased with himself. He believed himself to be perfect and unconquerable. So when I tried the jacket on him and it did not fit,so well, he claimed it was so because he was a genius. No jackets could fit any genius, he scowled. To tell the truth, he was beside himself with righteous indignation. He lifted the jacket , swirled it overhead and threw it nearly a hundred kms away on the southwest direction.
“You are selfish, cruel and you think only of yourself You don’t understand how we animals value our freedom. I hate you. For long I knew, you were dominating and I being genetically superior, wanted to reform you. I am a tiger… nothing can change me.But you better change, sooner or later… Grrrrr”
He walked to and forth, tapping his tail to show his importance and came back to say, “….When you don’t want to change, what can I do?”, so saying, he stomped out in the south west direction, where he had flung the jacket, vowing for life that the devil take him if he were to return to me.Upon his soul, it could only happen if he should turn a donkey….. I got so worried about him that I jumped into my wagon and began to search for him. For two days I looked for him in every nook and corner. Then , so tired and parched, I came to a pool to drink water. I had a quick swill and turned around. There under a maple tree…what did I see!!!!! A pleasant surprise. Little tiger was licking a lollipop, snug on the rear side grassy patch of land by the stretch of maples, where a rhino was relaxing. Her name was violethue and she was wearing the jacket, although, it did not fit her so well.. As soon as she saw me, she ran to me and said how much she liked the jacket which had fallen on her like a cap three days ago when tiger had thrown it off in a great huff. She patted little tiger affectionately on his furry head and said he had mellowed down and I could take him back home. Sure enough, tiger was meowing like a kitten.
Ohhh dear,…. Why is my tiger mewing….. everyone please go to Aditi’s latest blog
(Scared about the quality test ) and check. You will find my tiger mewing merrily……Anyway, I was contented that I got back my tiger, in the same old cheerful disposition, with the same old love…. Except that I will have to take him to a vet to check his gullet.haa..haaa… haa….oooohhhh Tiger dear and others, you needn’t wear any jacket if you don’t like itttt…..just let’s stay friends, pleeeeeeeeezzzz!!!
