Help NEW INSIGHTS INTO QUALITY BLOGGING
NEW INSIGHTS INTO QUALITY BLOGGING
It is more than a week since Cindy’s Fenku fever is past but the sweetness lingers on. Long before that I had posted my views on quality blogging, and enriched it with the insights of Secondcoming(Rahul Bose) and Santosh. N.
My view held that good language skills (whatever language it may be) gives pleasure to the readers. Although they may not be so popularly read, they ought to be viewed as "quality blogging" and as blogs to be emulated.(ref:BLOGS OF GOOD QUALITY )
The Rahulian angle was to achieve self actualization through self expression and the Santoshian angle was the primacy of content vis a vis good language. Following these views, I modified my view on quality blogging and confined good literary style to “Quality English” ; a small aspect of “Quality Blogging” and made “Quality blogging” an umbrella term to incorporate the views of more styles and genres. (INTEGRATING THE DIALOGICS OF QUALITY BLOGGING)
Now is the time for me to introduce the Cindiian view as one classic example of Quality Blogging. It cannot be denied that to organize a contest and reveal the multifarious talent of a whole group of interested bloggers and counting the ratings is a major task. What interests me more is that, Cindy girl has risen to the levels of Santhosh and Rahul Bose in presenting a strong perspective without realizing it. What she must have wanted was to derive some fun with friends. But that has given birth to a new aspect towards blogging theories that I am trying to evolve, without mincing words- Blogging is not all about writing.
I feel glad to add it to my theory of quality blogging as the Cindiian angle( the mutual bonding of bloggers).
That at rest, the Fenku contest was to the abilty to bluff, to say any crazy thing but all that mattered was never to let go of humour. The animated participation in the contest unleashed the techie talent of Satyakam, the crispy banter of Mridul Bora, the vibrant humour of Umbrella 22 , the brilliance of Tiger and the robust frolic of sugarr. May I be pardoned for human omissions of other names...lol...
The point is, sometimes high fie language is a deterrent to humour (although Tiger and sarada were two people who were able to achieve both).. Often, to achieve a certain effect, one needs to go beyond the scope of language to dig out maximum pleasure. Therefore, I had a nagging feeling that if a poll was set instead of rating, Umbrella 22 would have won hands down Well, this is just my stray thought because I was amazed at the number of 5* rating her post got, and it was richly deserved.
Having said this, we cannot underplay the value of visual impact which the computer can provide, as against a text book. Many of the blogging sites with increased Eurpoean participation have high multimedia effects, pictures and animations. People blog music albums with their own voice, films that they themselves make, besides the blogs on interesting self created animations. The entire page glitters. It is just that, we Indians are still fixated with writing. With the kind of techie influence on blogging pages, it is only a matter of time when writing styles would become too outdated, even as a matter for discussion.
Apart from this are the photoshop delights that mycreations and Ting Tong are experts in. It is just that this facet of their personality needs an opportunity to be focused and reach the limelight , under a possible genre called non verbal blogging. The eye catching sketches of TribhuMRatta and Sujatha are long known to us. They never fail to add spice to the blogs with memorable lines. I would love to bracket them all as gems of heavenly blogging(of the non verbal). There may be more such people in and out of IBIBO. In fact each and every blogger is special and brings a special facet to the blogging world. Each stands representing a new theory himself/herself.May I invite Cindy to bring to the fore different talents, so that many more bloggers get noticed and showcased to delight us again??
PS-I have added TribhuMDatta thinking that the sketches are his own. My blurbs to him asking whether the sketches were original hav not been answered. But the sketches of beautiful humans depicted in his blogs can never go unnoticed and may the credit go to whoever had drawn it!!!
